Welcome to Department of Zoology

Department of Zoology in Tai Golwalkar Mahavidhyalaya was established in 2006 and enrolls students for Bachelors in Zoology (B.Sc.) with specialization in Entomology and Aquaculture.

The department has well equipped spacious laboratories for the undergraduate students to carry out various practical. The department has an enriched museum including large number of bottled, stuffed, plastic mounted specimens, skeletons, corals, shells and models. There is also qualitative collection of slides to study zoology at the microscopic level. We organize Excursion tour to scientific laboratory, national parks and agro based industries for the undergraduate students because we believe in factual learning rather than hypothetical.

Students of Zoology learn classical zoology, genetics, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental pollution, wild life conservation, cell, molecular biology and biotechnology. Our Department imparts training to students on Apiculture, Sericulture and Vermicomposting etc. to meet global challenges with a blend of recent trends in the various branches of zoology. Department also assigned small projects to students like collection of insects, zooplanktons, fishes, study of pond ecosystem etc.  to promote research activities in students. Research experiences for  students gives an opportunity to gain a deeper knowledge of research techniques and processes, explore academic literature, and form meaningful relationships with faculty members and professional researchers.

Faculty member of the Department are actively participating in conferences, seminars and workshops regularly. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the department is helpful and work as a team to provides an open and favorable atmosphere for the overall personality development of the students.
